Dr. Marks received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles, California's largest and oldest school for Psychologists. Dr. Marks continues the tradition at the California School of Professional Psychology of providing quality services that fosters respect for human diversity.

Dr. Marks enjoys the variety of intersecting cultures within Los Angeles County. Dr. Marks' cultural competency allows her to work with a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds, ages, socioeconomic statuses, abilities, religious backgrounds, and sexual orientations.

Dr. Marks completed her postgraduate training in geriatric psychology at the Center for Healthy Aging in Santa Monica, a highly respected agency that focuses on the treatment and newest interventions for chronically mentally ill older adults. Dr. Marks worked at WISE and Healthy Aging as a clinical training coordinator and clinical supervisor. Dr. Marks gained expertise in case conceptualization as well as nuturing the growth of psychology trainees and interns. A part of her private practice is dedicated to providing clinical supervison for current trainees and interns.

Her therapy style is predominetly guided by psychodynamic principles which include an opportunity to examine how your past is connected to present difficulties. Dr. Marks provides a safe, warm environment that will enhance the therapuetic relationship. She will tailor her training and experience to working with you in a way that meets you where you are at and meets your individual needs.

Along with using a psychodynamic approach, Dr. Marks uses a variety of other approaches to therapy. These include object relations, relational-cultural, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, huministic-extistential, gay/lesbian affirmative therapy. She has been trained in these diverse modalities and may incorporate these interventions exclusively or in combination given the client's presenting concern.
